Burn Hazard — Allow Full Cool-Down Before Starting Exhaust systems reach extreme temperatures during use and retain heat for a significant time after the engine is switched off. Never attempt to work on the exhaust with bare hands until it has cooled completely to ambient temperature. This can take 30–60 minutes or more after the engine is turned off. Touch the exhaust pipe carefully with one finger first to test — if it is warm at all, wait longer.
01

Allow the Exhaust to Cool Completely

Switch off the engine and allow the vehicle to sit until the exhaust system has returned to ambient temperature. Do not rush this step. The exhaust pipe, original tip, and surrounding components will all be extremely hot after recent use.

WarningContact with a hot exhaust can cause serious burns within a fraction of a second. Even an exhaust that has been off for 20–30 minutes may still be dangerously hot. Always test with a brief fingertip touch well away from the tip end before handling.
02

Check New Tip Fitment

Before removing anything, slide the new tip onto the exhaust pipe temporarily to confirm it fits over the pipe diameter and that the clamp position will work. Check the tip sits centred within the bumper cut-out and at the correct depth.

NoteExhaust tips are sized by inner diameter to fit specific pipe sizes. If the tip is too tight to slide on, check you have the correct size. Do not force it — slight resistance is normal but it should slide with hand pressure.
03

Remove the Original Exhaust Tip

Locate the clamp or fixing securing the original tip. Using the appropriate tool (typically a hex key, socket, or screwdriver), loosen the clamp until the tip can be moved freely. Twist the tip gently while pulling rearward to slide it off the pipe.

NoteIf the original tip is stuck due to corrosion or heat cycling, apply a small amount of penetrating oil around the join and allow it to soak for a few minutes. Twist back and forth gently while pulling — do not yank or use a lever, as this can damage the exhaust pipe.
04

Clean the Exhaust Pipe End

Wipe the end of the exhaust pipe with a cloth to remove any carbon deposits, rust, or residue left by the original tip. A clean pipe surface helps the new tip slide on smoothly and ensures a secure clamp grip.

NoteLight surface rust on the pipe end is normal and will not affect fitment. If the pipe end is significantly corroded or misshapen, have it inspected by an exhaust specialist before fitting a new tip.
05

Fit & Position the New Tip

Slide the new tip fully onto the exhaust pipe. Position it so it sits centred within the bumper cut-out, at an even depth, and level — not tilted up or down. Take your time with this step as the final visual result depends on it.

NoteStep back and view the tip from directly behind the vehicle to check alignment. It should appear centred in the bumper aperture and level with the ground. On twin-exit setups, check both sides match in position and depth before tightening either clamp.
06

Tighten the Clamp Securely

With the tip in the correct position, tighten the included clamp firmly using the appropriate tool. The tip should be completely secure with no rotation or rearward movement when pulled. Do not overtighten to the point of deforming the tip or pipe.

NoteIf the clamp does not tighten enough to hold the tip firmly on the pipe, the tip may be slightly too large for the pipe diameter. A small amount of exhaust-rated silicone or PTFE tape on the pipe end can help take up the gap and improve grip — ensure any material used is rated for exhaust temperatures.
07

Final Check

Visually inspect the fitted tip from behind the vehicle. It should be centred, level, and at the correct depth. Try to rotate and pull the tip — there should be no movement at all. Start the engine briefly and check for any exhaust leaks or rattles at the clamp joint.

NoteA small amount of smoke from the new tip on first use is normal as any oils or residue from manufacturing burn off. This clears within a few minutes of running. If smoke persists or there is an unusual exhaust smell, stop the engine and inspect the clamp joint.
Legal & SafetyExhaust modifications may affect your insurance and should be declared to your insurer. Ensure the fitted tip does not reduce ground clearance below legal limits or protrude beyond the vehicle's rear bumper in a way that could cause injury. Euroforge accepts no liability for damage arising from self-installation. Professional installation is always strongly recommended.
